Personal Injury Law

Getting hurt because of someone else's carelessness turns your life upside down. Medical bills pile up. Insurance companies start calling. We step in so you do not have to deal with that alone. Car accidents, slip and falls, construction injuries, wrongful death claims. We go after the compensation you are owed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Real Questions. Straight Answers.

If you have been wondering about your legal situation, chances are someone else has too. Here are the questions we hear most often — answered honestly.

General

If you are facing a situation that involves a legal document, a government agency, a financial dispute, an accident, or a family matter — you need at least a consultation. Most people wait too long and end up with fewer options than they would have had. A free conversation with Farhan costs you nothing and gives you a clear picture of whether legal help is necessary.

It depends on the type of case. Immigration, real estate, tax, family law, and civil litigation matters are handled on a flat fee or hourly basis depending on the complexity. Personal injury cases are handled on a contingency basis — meaning you pay nothing unless we win. The first consultation is always free.

Yes. Farhan speaks Bengali and understands the cultural background many of our clients come from. You are welcome to speak in Bengali during your consultation. Many of our clients from the Bangladeshi and South Asian community in Jackson Heights feel more comfortable doing so.

We are located at 7235 Broadway, Office 213, Jackson Heights, NY 11372. You can schedule a visit by calling (844) 343-2529 or by filling out the consultation form on this website. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Immigration

Yes. Overstaying a visa is serious but it does not necessarily mean deportation is inevitable. There are legal pathways available depending on your specific circumstances, how long you have been here, and your family ties in the United States. The first step is understanding exactly where you stand. Call us before doing anything else.

It varies significantly depending on your category. Family-based green cards for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens are generally faster than employment-based or other family preference categories. Processing times also shift based on USCIS workload. We give you an honest timeline estimate based on your specific situation during your consultation.

Not necessarily. Many denied applications can be appealed or refiled with additional evidence or a stronger legal argument. We handle appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and file mandamus actions in federal court for cases that have been unreasonably delayed. A denial is not always the final word.

Yes. If you or a family member has received a removal order or is currently in immigration proceedings, contact us immediately. Time is critical in these situations. We represent clients in removal defense and pursue every available relief option to keep families together.

Personal Injury

Get medical attention immediately even if you feel fine. Document everything you can at the scene. Do not give a recorded statement to any insurance company before speaking to an attorney. Insurance adjusters work for the insurer, not for you. Call us as soon as you are able and we will guide you through every step from there.

In most cases the statute of limitations is three years from the date of the accident. However if your case involves a government entity such as a city vehicle or public property, the notice of claim must be filed within 90 days. Missing these deadlines can permanently eliminate your right to compensation. Do not delay.

New York follows a comparative negligence rule which means you can still recover compensation even if you were partially at fault. Your compensation is reduced by your percentage of fault. Even if you think you were partly responsible, speak to us before assuming you have no claim.

Real Estate

In New York, having an attorney for a real estate transaction is standard practice and strongly advisable. Unlike many other states, New York real estate deals involve significant legal documentation, title issues, co-op board rules, and transfer taxes that require proper legal oversight. An attorney protects you in ways a real estate agent simply cannot.

Both sides typically have their own attorney in a New York real estate transaction. Your attorney reviews the contract, negotiates terms on your behalf, handles title issues, and represents your interests at closing. Having your own attorney means someone is legally obligated to protect you specifically — not the deal in general.

Tax Law

Do not ignore it and do not respond without understanding what it is asking. IRS notices have strict deadlines and responding incorrectly can limit your options significantly. Bring the notice to us. We review it, explain what it means in plain language, and advise you on the best course of action before any deadline passes.

In some cases yes. The IRS has a program called an Offer in Compromise that allows certain taxpayers to settle their debt for less than the full amount owed based on their ability to pay. Not everyone qualifies and the application process is detailed. We assess your eligibility honestly and prepare the strongest possible application if you do qualify.

Family Law

A legal separation means you and your spouse live apart and have a formal agreement about finances, property, and any children but you remain legally married. A divorce legally ends the marriage. Some couples choose separation for religious reasons or to maintain certain benefits. We help you understand which option makes more sense for your specific situation.

An uncontested divorce where both parties agree on all terms typically takes three to six months in New York depending on how quickly the paperwork is completed and how backed up the court is. Having an attorney prepare the filing correctly from the start avoids delays and rejections that can add months to the process.
